THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS
CHAPTER 6: Tracks From The Battlefield.
A few says after the massacre of the Fort William, Heyward, Munro and the Mohicans returned to the Fort looking for Cora and Alice. Uncas found a piece of the scarf of Cora, and then, found an earring of Alice, the book of hymns of Gamut and tracks of Magua. Munro assumed that they aren’t dead but they were prisoners of the Hurons.
They spent the night in the ruins of the Fort. In midnight, appeared a Huron, he shooted and was nearly to kill Chingachgook but Uncas went to seek him and killed him. They decided that they will follow Magua’s tracks to find the girls, they will go in canoe.
In the morning, they went to the river and rode in the canoe, then began to paddle. They arrived a place where there are small islands, in one of the islands they saw smoke and they thought that there were Hurons. The Hurons saw them and tried to kill them, but they escaped to the riverside.
